First, find a quiet dark room where you won’t be distracted.
You should have a small desk or coffee table to place the candle on.

Then, light your candle and find out which position is most comfortable for you.

For me, sitting with my legs crossed on the floor is best. You can use a small pillow to sit on for some added comfort.

Now is the fun part.
Try to focus on the flame and your breathing.

Concentrate on the air moving in and then out of your nostrils.

You may feel goosebumps tingle up your arms and your legs. This is good and it means your body is balancing its hormones and unwinding into a very relaxed state.

Try to get 5 full breaths without losing your concentration.

If your mind starts wandering with thought after thought…
just relax and acknowledge each one.

Then, let it go and actively get back to your breathing and watching the candle burn.

Once you’ve learned to be more mindful during your day…the next step is to begin meditating on your own.

The best way to do this is to follow along with a guided meditation.

Simply grab some headphones, an eye mask, and find a quiet place to unwind.

First start by warming up your muscles with active stretching.

This means that you swing your arms across your body, then swing your legs forward
and back in order to get some blood flow!

Next, perform a forward hamstring stretch! Stand straight up, move one leg forward and slowly bend forward at the hips.
